Boostmobile Sanyo Incognito review

I was scrubbing the Boostmobile website, looking to promote my phone from the i425 that I bought when Boost first started up here in Philadelphia. I didn`t wish to pay a fortune, but I did want some distinguishing features. I cherished a sound that looked different and novel; a ring with services and features that wouldn`t give my account; a sound that would work my head, as well as others_with the Sanyo Incognito, I found what i was looking for.

here is nothing not to care near the phone`s appearance: the Incognito is a sleek rectangular clamshell with a silver mirror finish on the front, and a flat plastic coating on the back. The front panel actually makes a right hand mirror-when not in use; with a downward flick of the side button, the silver mirror like faceplate comes alive: date and time, services in use, and a numeric keypad glow brightly. This touchscreen is quite sensitive, and you but touch, not push, the faceplate to dial in a phone number. You can also file through your contact list from the faceplate, recieve calls and oversee bluetooth tasks. There is a little buzz sensation when touching numerals and the directional and OK buttons that you see glowing below the silver, assuring that your tactile input has been noted. There are side panel inputs for data/power USB cable, micro SD card, and headphones; all of which are backed with rubber plugs which fit flush with the cover for a quiet face and feel. There`s a 2mp camera mounted on the back, and a square speaker grille, along with the battery compartment. This ring has a solid feel to it; not a cheap, cheesy feeling, like the hinge is leaving to break, or a love is loose somewhere. When you shot the phone open to approach the QWERTY keyboard, you see a smart click, as it snaps firmly open. The inner screen makes you like it were bigger; it`s vivid and colorful, with slideshow type presentation to get to your options and services. I say bright and colorful, because I downloaded anime wallpaper from my netbook, via bluetooth, another cool feature, and it looks like classic comic book color. The keyboard keys are the proper size and spacing even for my big hands; I`m 6ft and 210lbs; and for dedicated texters, which i am not, there are convenience keys, like the emoticon key and the @-`at`- key.Things I really care about this phone: Bluetooth. The bluetooth profiles this phone accepts include stereo, and this sound is likewise an MP3 player, so i can use bluetooth stereo headphones.the only problem is the battery only goes about 5 hours per charge. The good tidings is I can recharge using my netbook, via the USB data cable, which is not included. A USB power adaptor to chew in the wall is included though. I launch my data cable from my camera fits this interface on the phone. If i didn`t have bluetooth stereo headphones, there is a phone jack on the top position of the phone-again, covered with a rubber plug, flush with the end for smooth lines all around. The Incognito already has about 500mb of memory space onboard, the micro SD slot allows for up to 16gb more, for my music, photos and videos. Speaking of videos, the Incognito has an alternative for updating the firmware, in the settings/tools menu, and at this point, the firmware update allows me to watch youtube videos. I still haven`t uploaded a picture to youtube yet from this phone. The internet browser onboard is fast loading, via 3g; installing your own Opera Mini 5 browser gives it more of a pc/ laptop look; full color, full page. There is no wonder the camera and video could be better; but let it be said that I took a fine indoor picture of my apt. that i use as wallpaper, and a picture of a street juggler that came out quite respectable. The camera is 2mp, with either auto or manual config options_by using manual settings i was capable to make the pictures i wanted to see.The Incognito doesn`t do the spreadsheet and powerpoint thing: there is no rooms of windows works or office; it`s a cool sleek uptown city phone with features for people who text and breakers and talk. The Incognito doesn`t want you pay for an email client, like with blackberry; with the Incognito, you can transmit and recieve your mail from the FREE web mail services you already have: Yahoo, Google, MSN, your ISP.i have 5 different mail services all easily accessible from this phone, with room for more. You can watch Youtube videos, upload to Twitter and Facebook, transfer music, video and photos from you pc with bluetooth; there`s still a way to dilute your own custom ringtones_Boostmobile customers always ask how to put your own custom ringtones on the Incognito.for free. the response they usually get is wrong. The place they are sent to doesn`t put the ringtones in the correct format. Phonezoo, acell phone site for free apps, does. You cut your ringtone at that site, and so get it sent to your phone, where it automatically puts itself in the correct folder on your phone.I make no effect with the audio character of the Incognito; reception of calls is about normal for cellphones, the speakerphone is quite crisp and clear, and the MP3 player has EQ settings which sound good just coming from the phone speaker. You can`t use the music player or the EQ until you make a micro SD card installed; music files don`t download to the phone`s internal memory. There literally is room for improvement with the Incognito, via the update phone option. The microcode was recently updated to accomodate Youtube videos, and with a sound like this, it just makes sense to update the microcode in the future, so more apps can be used.this ring seems to have the possible to do way more, in the apps dept. than it presently does with the present firmware version.Personally, i wish this sound a lot. It`s no Iphone or a Droid by any means, but then again, it also isn`t 3 or 4 hundred dollars , either. Here`s the deal: i not alone was capable to get the Incognito, with case, screen shields and store card, for a slight over $100, but I`m using it on the Boostmobile network, and Sprint is the carrier network. With Boost, i`m able to use all the phone features: talk text web, everything the phone offers, for $50/month with no binding contract. I`ll give it down further.for $2/day, i can make the same unlimited usage service, and vary my plan day to day if i wish_no contract. For those of you trying to squirm out of a loan shark deal you made with other providers, know that with Boost, internet access is only 35 cents a day, all day long. That means like for today, for instance, I`m only gonna spend 35 cents to use the Incognito, cause i set my design for pay-as-you-go, which charges 10cents per call, and i have web enabled. I`m not going to produce or have any calls today on the Incognito; i`ll just graze the web and pass through emails. when i`m out and some tomorrow, i`ll set my programme for $2/day unlimited everything, and talk, text, and surf all day for $2 flat. Once my pay comes thru, i`ll only put $50 in the acct and have unlimited everything for the whole month_Incognito has about everything; the ring has no walkie talkie chirp service.

The Incognito retails for $!29 from Boostmobile; i bought mine from eBay, and for the grand sum of $110, i got myself the Boostmobile Incognito, new in software with activation kit, a hard rubber case with shield screens for the front panel and inner screen, and a 4gb micro SD card with a good size adapter, and another screen shield, which i put on anotherdigital camera. All purchases from eBay vendors, all free shipping.I wish the Incognito; it makes it look like you get your own style.that way a lot to me these days, when drones flock to Iphones that have structural flaws that support for four generations, and somehow everyone keeps the truth hidden unto themselves, like the emperor`s new clothes.the Incognito works right, right now, and can be better in the next with firmware updating. The incognito is not for everybody; it`s sort of care a `niche` phone, the way macs are `niche` computers. There are supposedly unfavorable product reviews for the Incognito, and yet, from the mouths of owners of the phone, and from Youtube tutorial videos posted about this phone, the real owners, like myself, have naught but love and praise for the Incognito.
